WHY A PEDIATRIC DENTIST

Pediatric dentistry is the specialty that focuses on the oral health of young people. Our office incorporates specialized training to offer the best dental service available to children in Central Oregon.

Two to three years of additional training is needed beyond dental school. This program of specialized study and hands-on experience prepares us to meet the needs of children from infancy through the teenage years. Pediatric dentists understand the growth and development of children, and are better able to treat patients in the most appropriate manner as they transition from a child to an adult.

  • Significant study is also devoted to the psychological aspects of guiding children through the dental experience. Pleasant visits to the pediatric dental office promote the establishment of lasting trust and confidence.

    A pediatric dentist practices in a “kid-friendly” facility, has pediatric sized instruments, and is better able to guide children through a dental procedure. Since we’re a pediatric dentist office in Bend, OR and Redmond, OR, we serve the children of our community by approaching their dental care with these specialized skills.

  • David Burrus

    DDS

    David Burrus, DDS was born and raised in Creswell, Oregon. Dr. David attended Eastern Oregon University and Marquette University School of Dentistry. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010 and graduated with honors. In dental school, Dr. David met his wonderful wife, Elise. He completed his two-year pediatric dental residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a published author in the Journal for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. David enjoys music, fishing, snowboarding, and surfing. The Burrus family loves to explore Central Oregon in their restored 1971 VW camper bus named Otto!

  • Elise Burrus

    DDS

    Elise Burrus, DDS was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Boston College in 2005, with a degree in biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2009 and graduated with honors. Dr. Elise completed a two-year residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and received her pediatric dentistry certificate in 2011. After residency, she worked an additional year at the hospital as an attending pediatric dentist, mentoring residents in the program. She is a board-certified pediatric dentist. Dr. Elise loves living in Central Oregon and enjoys all outdoor activities. She enjoys traveling, skiing, surfing, and is an avid Green Bay Packers football fan. Drs. Elise and David have two young children, Ivan and Sage.

  • Casey Jones

    DMD

    Casey Jones, DMD grew up in Eugene, Oregon. She earned an athletic scholarship to attend Oregon State University, where she was team captain of the track and cross-country teams. She received Pac‐10 All‐American First Team Honors and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College. Dr. Casey received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, where she graduated with the highest honors. Dr. Casey went on to complete a two-year pediatric dental residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, where she was appointed co-chief resident. When she’s not at the office, you can find her outside with her husband, Matt; she enjoys painting, running, mountain biking and whitewater rafting.
